"Technology should enhance learning. There is no value in just having access to it but more important how it is used" (Lam, 2004) This is one of the quotes that I found in my article, as I was reviewing it. In todays society, with how fast technology is changing, it seems that just as soon as one school is getting a ACTIV board, another is getting a permethean board. I have no clue which one is better, just that they are the new thing. Just like electronic flip charts in the classroom. Still I have come to the conclusion, that as technology advances, so it must advance in the classroom.
It is strange to think that before it was overhead projectors, but know you have elmo's where you can leave the transparencies behind. It is amzinging to think that just when desktops where popular, now everyone has to have a laptop, but wait a second and now it is internet on your blackberry and you can hold the world in your hand. This leads to the importance of technology in the classroom. "With individualized computer instruction, students can always immediately request help if something is unclear. Computers help to make it more interactive. They are extremely effective with the struggling learners because they (unlike humans) have unlimited patience" (Lam, 2004). Computers in the classroom expand the learning possibilites for all children. They are great resources for the advanced student, but also a very useful tool to a student who is behind in their studies and need additional help.
Technology will continue to change, but as long as we keep it in the classroom, students will learn more and be ready for the era of technology as they become adults. It is funny for me because even my grandfather who fought in world war II is using the computer, and can run it better than my mom who is in her fifties. I personally believe that the more advantages that we give our students in the aspect of technology, then the better they will be off in the future. Overall this article talks about the importance of technology in the classroom, and how a teacher can go about using it in the classroom. It was an insightful article, and has certainly opened my eyes to the wonderful aspects of technology in the new age.

A new twist to the itsy bitsy spider!
The Chubby Little Piggy
The chubby little piggy
went out to count some sheep.
He counted to ten,
and then he fell asleep.
He awoke with a start,
when three more begin to bae.
So how many sheep,
did he really count today?

It's Holiday Time!
Hey everyone!
I haven't been on here lately, because I crashed my computer. I have been extremely busy trying to redo things I lost and get caught back up. It has been difficult, because of the holiday's, but I have learned that sometimes you just have to take a moment to breathe and spend time with your family and friends. As we come to a close of this term, I hope everyone takes the time to spend with the ones they love, because life is short and you have to do the things and be with the people you love. Even in the hurry, hustle and bustle of life. Hope you all enjoy your holiday season. Until I post again! Tootles :)

What's Up Peeps?
Hey everyone, I have not been on to post lately. I have been super busy, just trying to get everything done and caught up. Overall, I have found this term to be very insigtful and interesting. I feel that I have learned a lot, and am starting to feel more prepared for becoming a teacher. I am excited, and look forward to completing this term. I have really enjoyed our tech class and really like the videos that we have been working on. I hope to carry this new knowledge with me as I enter a classroom of my own. ADIOS! :)

Promethean Planet
The flip chart that I found that would currently go well with the unit I am writing is on Thanksgiving. It is called a "Turkey for Thanksgiving". It is for a kindergarten class, and has lots of interactive features that allows you to draw and write in your responses. It covers information about the Pilgrims and Indians and lots of other cool facts and information about Thanksgiving. Overall I like the idea of having a Promethean board in my classroom, but I think that it might be tricky to learn at first. Eventually I think that I could get the hang of it. With anything, all it will take is a little bit of practice, or in my case a lot! This was fun and could be a useful tool in any class. :)

Another day, another dollar. Won't anyone give me a hollar?
Hello.
Today I decided to just be. What I mean by this, is that sometimes you have to face the facts that there is only so much one person can accomplish in one day. There is only twenty-four hours and eight of those should be used for sleeping, eight are used for school. That makes sixteen, that leaves me eight hours to accomplish everything else. This usually means work, homework, eating, driving, normal daily routines such as getting dressed, brushing my hair etc... If I work 4.5 hours that leaves me 3.5 for everything else. That is not a lot of time to accomplish everything, so I have decided that when life happens you have to take it with a grain of sand and do the best you can. So this is to anyone who feels the same, and might be struggling like I am. Today is the day to shine. To put your best foot forward, and simply BE. Until I post again.
Vayo Con Dios! :)

HoMeWoRk and all that JaZz!
Hey, Just thought I would post my first post in my Blog. I am just working on homework, and feeling a bit overwhelmed. I don't know where it all came from. Last week I thought I was on task, but now I just feel behind... and a bit discouraged. I am excited, because I just keep telling myself eight more months and it will all be worth it, but it's times like now that I think if only it was June already. Well enough chatter, time to get back on task and finish playing catch up. Until I post again... Adios!
